American singer and songwriter Sharon Van Etten shared details about her sixth studio album called We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong. This will be her first release after 2019’ Remind Me Tomorrow. Set to be released next month, May 6, the album includes a number of 10 tracks and it tells some stories about "the questions we ask ourselves when we think the world — or at least, our world — might be ending."  From there, it ponders how we spent our time, if we did enough of some things or too little of others. But it also spokes about hope, or at least a path forward.

Van Etten oversaw every stage of We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong, co-producing the record with Daniel Knowles and recording and engineering much of it herself in her home studio. She played guitar, synthesizers, piano, drum machine, wurlitzer, keys, and more on the album, while Jorge Balbi contributed drums, Devon Hoff lent a hand on bass, and Charley Damski added extra synthesizers and guitars.

Van Etten also shared an album trailer, and you may watch it below.
