Motley Crue announced on Tuesday, 1/28 their retirement and final tour via press conference inside Beacher's Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.

After 33 years of rocking upside down and imbibing enough booze and drugs to kill an entire school of blue whales, the iconic heavy metal band Mötley Crüe has announced their plans to retire following one final tour. They made the announcement in a press conference inside Beacher's Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood on Tuesday afternoon, January 28. Rockers Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx and Mick Mars have hinted about their retirement since 2013, but now it's official. In a statement, bassist Nikki Sixx said, “When it comes to putting together a new show we always push the envelope and that's part of Motley Crue's legacy. As far as letting on to what we're doing, that would be like finding out what you're getting for Christmas before you open the presents. We think in an age of too much information, we'd like to keep some surprises close to our chest until we launch the Final Tour.”

Kicking off this July, the massive outing will hit nearly 75 stadiums and arenas across the US before wrapping up in late November. And to ensure that their won't be any reunion tours down the line, the band has signed an official “Cessation Of Touring Agreement”, effective at the end of 2015, that bars them from any “future, unauthorized touring.”

Before their swansong kicks off this summer, Motley Crue will appear on Wednesday, January 29 on episode of CBS This Morning. Below, check out their full schedule followed by some career highlights. Alice Cooper has been tapped as the opening act.
