Lorde wins first Grammy for best pop solo performance with her hit Royals. She also took the stage to deliver her song.

Newcomer Lorde won her first Grammy for Best Pop Solo performance with the hit "Royals" and also hit the stage to perform it in a very acoustic version with few instruments. "Royals" earned nods for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, winning Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. "Pure Heroine," her debut album, was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album. Lorde was one of a handful of snubs in the Best New Artist category.

And the 17-year-old singer was just one of the top females to hit the Grammy stage Sunday: Madonna, Carole King, Pink and Bareilles will also perform at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
