With a simple and straightforward announcement, the UK-based emo band Basement just decided to make their comeback by releasing the lead single for their upcoming LP, a track called Summer's Colour. This is quite a surprise to hear from them, as in 2012 they announced an indefinite hiatus, but still they haven't shared any details about the brand new EP Further Sky, set for release on July 29 via Run For Cover Records.

Doused in shoegaze-inflected guitars and shimmering distortion, Summer's Colour sees frontman Andrew Fisher sounding a little more subdued in his delivery than in the past, smoothening some of the rough vocal edges found on their 2012 album, Colourmekindness. It's by far one of the more welcoming tracks of Basement's discography, accessible even over the raging instruments.

Basement are currently gearing up to head out on their Australian, Japan and U.S. reunion tours in July and August.
